The SOG Specialty Knives & Tools F18-N Voodoo Hawk is a combination of the Tactical Tomahawk and FastHawk that features an extended cutting head and metal butt cap for chopping, hammering and breaching. This tomahawk has a 3.5-inch, 3Cr13 stainless steel blade mounted to the glass-reinforced nylon handle with heavy-duty bolts and a steel ferrule to insure the strongest integrity. The side hammer checkering insures precision placement when swinging. The ergonomically contoured and well balanced handle has a black finish and is made of a high strength, abrasion and impact resistant glass-reinforced nylon with a no-slip grip that will fit comfortably in your hand. A black nylon carry sheath is included with a snap closure and belt loop attachment to keep the Voodoo Hawk safely protected and close to you at all times. The F18-N has a blade length of 3.5-inches, a blade thickness of 0.26-inches, overall length of 12.56-inches, and weighs 28.5-ounces. not impressed with this product. the strap is too short, and the rivet that is on the strap side prevents the cover from even being useful. I would suggest buying a small shot bag and using that instead of this product. I had an old shot bag, and it works great for a hawk head cover.

I will also say that the hawk, needs work as well. I am in the process of refinishing this. I have removed the set screw, took the head off and honed the shaft, fits great with a little work. my next plan is to drop the head into paint remover and then use a gun blueing process on it. After that, I will sharpen it.

I bought the hawk knowing it would be a project, so I will be reviewing that as well.

5 stars. I don't understand why people give an item less stars because the company NOT THE PRODUCT, screws up and sends them the wrong thing. Reviews are for the product- if you want to review the store front that screwed up the order, then do that.

Ok, Get this hawk. If the rifleman's hawk and trail hawk had a baby this thing would come out. It's the perfect balance of weight, edge size and use of a good-sized hardened hammer poll. It's made out of 1055 steel that is forged and mine came very sharp out of the box. It's not meant to be razor shape: it's a chopping woodcraft tool, not a shaver, but if you are so inclined can easily be made so, though I really wouldn't recommend it as the edge will roll when you start chopping at wood.

  Ryan Johnson of RMJ Tactical in Chattanooga, TN designed The Woods Chogan T-Hawk. A specialist in applying modern engineering to centuries old tool and weapon concepts, he is upping the ante once again with a new outdoor line of tomahawks that swing as big as the open wilderness where they’re found.
  The design for this T-Hawk evolved from the popular and original tactical tomahawk series. But it’s built for battle with a few old Doug Firs. The Woods Chogan is made from a solid chunk of 1055 carbon steel that is hot forged into a rock-solid head that features a hammer finish. With primary and secondary edge bevels that are flat ground, it cuts through timber like a beaver.
